Midnighters Launches: A Fresh Approach to Games Publishing and Production Support

Brisbane & Melbourne, Australia / Los Angeles, USA -  [24th September 2025] -  Midnighters, an ardent collective of experienced games producers, has officially launched to offer both publishing and production support services to developers and publishers worldwide.

Formed by four co-directors with decades of combined experience, Midnighters was born during one of the toughest periods the games industry has faced in recent memory. Recognising the urgent need for sustainable and realistic production support, the team combined forces to help studios globally—across all time zones and markets—offering developers reliable, hands-on expertise toward the development and release of their titles, wherever they are based.

With nearly 50 commercially successful and critically acclaimed titles collectively and more than 12 years of industry experience each, the Midnighters team has worked across production, release management, community, and creative support for some of the industry’s most beloved games, including; Cult of the Lamb, Monster Train 2, Art of Rally, Absolute Drift, Mini Metro, Mini Motorways, Day Z, Arma 3, Hellboy Web of Wyrd, Dicefolk, and Alto’s Adventure & Odyssey.

Attributable quotes

“We created Midnighters as especially in recent years we have found that many developers require a partner that not only helps them ship games, but assists them to develop their titles and wider business realistically and sustainablywith the current industry climate in mind. By offering a tailored production support and publishing model, we are able to meet developers where they are.” said Jacob Vincent, Co-Director at Midnighters.

Co-Director Zea Wolfe added; “The typical publishing model doesn’t always meet the needs of independent developers. With our background as artists, designers and engineers ourselves, we aim to offer a tailored approach that supports developers in doing what they do best. We are driven by a deep understanding of what it feels like to be in their shoes”.

Midnighters Co-Director Jair McBain went on to say; “We are motivated by a mission to create and support long-lasting businesses that can provide meaningful employment to creative professionals in an era dominated by instability. Many developers are driven by burning creativity, and we have found that when paired with our empathy for their motivations, as well as our practical business development and production experience, we can extend their ability to create impactful art well into the future.”

A Unique Offering

Unlike traditional publishers or marketing consultants, Midnighters provides both production support and publishing services under one roof:

  • Publishing Support – Helping developers bring their vision to market with strategic release management, business development, and community support.
  • Production Support – Assisting teams with hands-on production expertise, with a focus on integrating sustainable development practices and prioritising long-term team health.

This dual model, as well as our team’s in-house creative experience and proven track record, positions Midnighters as a uniquely impactful partner in today’s challenging industry climate—where studios often struggle to balance creativity, team wellness and financial pressures.

A Collective Built on Collaboration

Midnighters was born out of prior collaborations on titles such as Art of Rally and Absolute Drift, leading to a realisation that by joining forces the team of four could provide broader support to a wider range of developers, offering a practical and scalable solution during a time of global uncertainty and industry strain.

“Games can be made more sustainably, with teams supported beyond just their current project,” said Aaron Oak, Co-Director at Midnighters. “We want to help teams feel confident delivering unique, creative titles with quality and care that builds lasting player trust.”
